The bifurcation is not the event. The recovery wake is the evidence.

1. Origin example

A rock in a river is not merely an object. It reshapes the surrounding field. Pressure builds before the obstacle. Flow lines split around the constraint before direct collision. Downstream, the system does not instantly return to baseline. It produces a wake, eddies, partial rejoining, and a new channel memory.

2. Definition

A post-bifurcation recovery signature is a morphology or signal pattern appearing downstream of a split event, where a system that encountered resistance, obstruction, pressure, or uncertainty partially re-coheres into a new stable or semi-stable path.

3. Natural Math sequence

A split tells us the system encountered choice or constraint. The recovery zone tells us what the system became afterward.

Fractal dimension measures complexity. MCVA must also measure recovery.

4. Cross-domain examples

Rivers

Pressure buildup before an obstacle, split flow, eddies, downstream wake, sediment deposition, and erosional marks.

Cracks

Stress buildup, asymmetric branch survival, arrested tips, secondary microcracks, and a dominant propagation path after the split.

Roads

Crack branching around voids, patches, or aggregate boundaries and downstream propagation along a preferred weakness line.

Vascular systems

Flow obstruction, collateral routing, altered vessel caliber, partial recovery, or downstream failure states.

Lightning

Leader branching, failed leaders, dominant channel selection, and return current through the selected path.

Dendrites and growth fronts

Growth splitting around a local constraint, branch competition, local depletion zones, and persistent downstream asymmetry.

Forests

Storm damage, recovery marks, altered crown routing, and inherited geometry after disturbance or obstruction.

Cognition and signals

Contradiction, pressure buildup, decision split, HOLD, narrative repair, and an altered downstream reasoning path.
